About Us
No baker left behind
The club aims to bring positivity and prioritize mental health to members through baking. Here, members can relax from a long week of school and other activities by baking together in a friendly, supportive environment. In addition, showcasing the creative culinary creations on the club's social media accounts can bring confidence to members and make them feel even more proud of the result of their hard work. By baking for volunteer services such as senior homes and impoverished neighborhoods, members will also gain a sense of fulfillment while creating important impacts on their communities. Members will also learn about cultures around the world by researching recipes and cooking for holidays such as Lunar New Year, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Rosh Hashanah. The club is open to all levels of chefs, and even those who have little to no cooking/baking experience have the opportunity to learn without judgement. Baking encourages self-care, creativity, patience, self-trust, and so much more. Since baking offers important life lessons, the club aims to teach members that failure is a learning opportunity rather than a sign of weakness. By nurturing friendships, a sense of belonging, mindfulness, and community, Girls Who Bake is an amazing opportunity to anyone who is interested in baking!
Our Story
This club provides members with a welcoming, stress-free environment for Stuyvesant students to unwind and boost their confidence. No experience is required to join, and members of all genders are welcome. Here, members will learn how to bake food of all kinds-- from easy recipes to more difficult ones, everyday meals or holiday specialties, and from cultures around the world! Through baking, members will practice self-compassion, self-appreciation, and a sense of independence. This club aims to teach women and all other genders to live each moment as it unfolds, focusing their attention on what is happening and accepting it without judgment. Members are expected to obtain basic baking supplies in their kitchens, as we will be baking via Zoom. Members can post their individual creations on the club's official Instagram account, as well as the club's other social media accounts. The club will also come out with videos showcasing our baking, as well as a compilation of recipes that the club community enjoys! Overall, the club hopes to offer a positive community of supportive women who are willing to learn, grow, and empower one another through a shared love for baking and eating!
